Laura Krolik
Joint Vice Chair

Hi, My name is Laura, I am Mum to two children. I have been a user of maternity services at Ipswich Hospital having both my babies there and having positive birth experiences on Brooke Ward. I joined the Ipswich and East Suffolk MVP in early 2019 to be part of a team to improve and develop patient experience and I am now committed to my (joint) Vice Chair role.

I am very passionate about service users having a voice in how maternity care is delivered and am excited to work alongside the maternity unit to ensure this happens. I have, until August, worked in the NHS for 16 years but am currently studying at college full time to develop myself.
Emily Rawlinson
Secretary
My name is Emily and I’m the Secretary for the Ipswich and East Maternity Voices Partnership. I decided to join the MVP as I’m really passionate about women’s healthcare. I work for the NHS and have two young boys, so it’s at the forefront of my mind frequently. When I’m not at work or looking after my boys, I enjoy getting to the gym or seeing friends.

Naomi Humes
Joint Vice-Chair
I'm Naomi and have recently joined as the (joint)
Vice-Chair for the Ipswich and East Maternity Voices Partnership. I am Mum of one and my birth story led me to find the MVP initially for support having, unfortunately, experienced a more negative labour. I was left feeling dejected and unworthy after having to fight my corner in such a vulnerable position.

I have since spoken to many women about their birth stories and finding the good and less so has further ignited a passion to want to find resolve, to empower women and for families to be heard, in a journey which may not be perfect but at the very least should be positive. I currently work as a Systems Engineer for an agricultural analytics company and enjoy walking and exploring with my family.

Tatiana Prates
Student nurse
Hey, I'm Tatiana! I am a student nurse and I got pregnant at the age of 18. My aim whilst working with Maternity Voices Partnership is to shine a light on young parents who feel as though their voices don't get heard or they feel uneducated to make formal decisions within maternity services.
